What Is Covered During A Typical Music Lesson?
Students do not always know what to expect from their lessons, so below are the three main areas that I work on.
Focus On Note And Rhythm Reading
Fundamental to furthering your skills as a performer, having a good understanding of how to read music effectively is essential.
Aspects Of Good Technique Covered
I have taken on pupils in the past who quite literally could not progress further due to a bad technique. Whilst this means a little more work initially, I place great emphasis on technique from the very beginning so that progress later on is not hindered.
Having Fun!
There is no point in learning to play an instrument if the process of doing so becomes a chore! I try to make the lessons fun and enjoyable whilst putting the student at ease, and use music that is "fun to play"! Exams are entered for "only" if the student wishes to do them, and no pressure is given by me to work on grades.
